“We chose Knockkennoch as it looked like it was going to be a quiet, remote and restful location. It was! There is nothing to do in the immediate area except listen to the sounds of curlews, the burbling of the brook and the rustling of the tree in the wind.
“Walks from the door are gentle, the shell beaches in the immediate vicinity are an interesting opportunity to explore the geology and birdlife.
The cottage itself is welcoming and has pretty much everything we needed for our stay. There is a suggestions book, which is a really nice touch and into which we put some ideas for making the cottage an even better place to stay.
There is a local delivery man who brings fish, fruit and veg to the nearest village, Borgue, on Tuesday afternoons, otherwise it’s a 10-15 minute drive to Kirkcudbright for the essentials, a very good butchers shop, bakers and deli with good coffee shops too.
“We really enjoyed our stay at this cottage, it was nice and clean, I would definitely come back or recommend to a friend.”
“Beautiful clean cottages in a great location, lovely and peaceful, the only noise was the cows mooing. It was a delight and I would defo recommend.“
